General Information
Processing check
Due to an increase in fraudulent activity, fulfilment of online orders will incur a minimum delay of one business day. Credits will not be issued within this period and transactions deemed as potentially fraudulent will be investigated and if necessary, referred to NZ Police. We apologise for any inconvenience that this delay may cause.
If I order online, when will I receive my order?
MTA Gift Vouchers are sent by courier with a signature required. Urban orders are typically processed the next business day and will be delivered within two to four business days from the receipt of the original order. Rural orders may take up to four days for delivery.
What should I do if I haven't received my order?
If you haven't received a tracking link for your order, or if goods haven't been delivered, please contact our team on 0800 00 11 44 or via email -- [email protected].

MTA Gift Vouchers
Buying MTA Gift Vouchers
For all your gifting needs, our MTA Gift Vouchers are available with a "no expiry" policy and are accepted by all MTA members (excluding VTNZ).
MTA Gift Vouchers can be purchased via the MTA online shop or at participating MTA members.
The maximum you can order online in one day is $1,500 in MTA Gift Vouchers. For orders above this, please contact MTA.
Additional fees
A standard $6.50 freight/insurance charge plus 2.5% processing fee applies to all purchases made through the MTA online shop. Additional fees will apply for rural delivery.
Does my MTA Gift Voucher have an expiry date?
No, the paper MTA Gift Vouchers do not expire.
Where can I use my MTA Gift Voucher?
MTA Gift Vouchers can be used at any MTA member, except at VTNZ. A list of MTA members can be found here.
If an MTA Gift Voucher is damaged, can it be replaced or refunded?
Depending on the situation, we'll do our best to help. Get in touch by sending us an email or giving us a call. The same applies if it is defaced, mutilated, altered, lost or stolen. Note that MTA Gift Vouchers should be treated like cash as they can be spent by the person who holds them.
MTA Gift Cards
Changes to MTA Gift Cards
As of the 1 August 2025, the MTA Gift Card was retired and no longer available for purchase. Please note this does not affect current cards in circulation. All MTA Gift Cards currently activated will continue to have the remaining value redeemable for the period of expiry.

Where can I use an MTA Gift Card?
MTA Gift Cards can only be redeemed through certain participating MTA members.
What can I buy with an MTA Gift Card?
Most products or services that are sold by MTA members can be purchased using an MTA Gift Card. Exceptions would be products or services purchased online through a member's own website or an unmanned service station.
Do I get change if I don't spend the full value of the MTA Gift Card in one purchase?
No change can be given when using an MTA Gift Card to make a purchase. If you don't spend the full balance in one purchase, you can keep using the card until the balance is zero. You can also use the balance as a part payment for a purchase, that way you'll always use up the full balance on your MTA Gift Card.
How many times can an MTA Gift Card be used?
You can use your MTA Gift Card as many times as you like until the full balance has been used, or the card expires.
If an MTA Gift Card breaks, can it be replaced or refunded?

Note that MTA Gift Cards should be treated like cash as the balance on the card can be spent by the person who holds the card.
How do I find the balance on an MTA Gift Card?
Look for the 16-digit number on the back of the card then scratch off the grey panel to reveal the pin. Once you have this information, we recommend that you do a quick check online or call 0800 00 11 44.
How do I know what value has been loaded onto my MTA Gift Card?
- MTA members activated the MTA Gift Card using their EFTPOS terminal by loading the value the customer chose. Once the balance was loaded, customers should have been given an EFTPOS receipt showing the amount that's on the card.
- You can check the balance on your MTA Gift Card at any time after activation. If you need further help, give us a call on 0800 00 11 44.
Does an MTA Gift Card expire?
Yes, 12 months after the date it was purchased - you can confirm the expiry date online. Any unused balance remaining on the MTA Gift Card at expiry will not be refunded or credited and is non-transferrable.
